letters to penny
Letters to Penny is an artist book and fragmented memoir composed through personal writings, altered text, image transfer, and gesture-based mark making. Developed in conversation with Ralph Waldo Emerson’s Love Essays, the work traces the quiet unraveling that occurs when devotion becomes entangled with self-erasure. Through obscured language, stains, repetitions, and redactions, the piece moves between confession and concealment—preserving emotional residue without fully disclosing its source. Begun before its own “expiration date,” the work reflects on longing, projection, and the fragile threshold between losing oneself within another person and returning inward to reclaim what was always waiting there.
