peril
Peril As A Possession is an artist book inspired by Emily Dickinson’s Part Five: The Single Hound and the iconic "Choose Life" monologue from Trainspotting. Through image, typography, and appropriated text, the work reflects on the tender and often painful relationship between passion, freedom, and self-determination. Rooted in the belief that what makes us feel most alive often asks something of us in return, the piece considers the sacrifices, risks, and quiet acts of devotion woven into the pursuit of a meaningful life.
Moving between poetic reflection and cultural commentary, Peril As A Possession serves as an ode to the broken and unseen parts of the self—the bruises, fractures, and invisible wounds gathered along the way. Existing somewhere between dream, prayer, and offering, Peril As A Possession considers peril not as something to avoid, but as the inevitable companion of a life lived with intention.
